1. Design and Comfort: Lightweight and Sleek for All-Day Use

One of the first things we notice about the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 is how sleek and lightweight they are. Samsung has refined the design of its earbuds with every iteration, and the Buds 3 are no exception. The earbuds have a minimalist yet ergonomic design that ensures they fit comfortably in our ears, even during extended use. Whether we’re using them for a long flight, during a workout, or on a busy day at work, the Galaxy Buds 3 are designed for comfort.

The earbuds come with multiple ear tip sizes, so we can easily find the perfect fit that ensures both comfort and excellent noise isolation. Samsung also paid special attention to the weight of the Buds 3, making them light enough that we can wear them for hours without feeling any discomfort.

Pros:

  • Sleek and Compact Design: The Galaxy Buds 3 have a modern and minimalistic look, with a compact design that makes them easy to carry in a pocket or bag.
  • Comfortable Fit: With various ear tip sizes available, we can find the perfect fit that makes the earbuds comfortable to wear for long periods.

Cons:

  • Glossy Finish: The glossy finish on the case and earbuds looks great but is prone to fingerprints and smudges.

2. Sound Quality: Immersive Listening Experience

When it comes to sound quality, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 deliver an impressive and immersive listening experience that competes with some of the best earbuds on the market. Samsung has continued to improve the audio quality with each generation of the Galaxy Buds, and the Buds 3 offer rich, clear sound with deep bass and crisp highs. Whether we’re listening to music, podcasts, or taking calls, the sound quality is consistently excellent.

The Buds 3 are powered by a custom-built dynamic driver that delivers well-balanced audio across all frequencies. One of the key improvements over previous models is the addition of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which allows us to block out unwanted background noise, making the listening experience even more enjoyable.

For those of us who love music with heavy bass or enjoy listening to high-definition audio, the Galaxy Buds 3 do not disappoint. The 360 Audio feature adds a layer of depth to the sound, making it feel as if we’re right in the middle of the music. This is particularly noticeable when watching movies or listening to live recordings, where the spatial audio effect brings everything to life.

Pros:

  • Superior Sound Quality: The Buds 3 offer rich audio with powerful bass and clear treble, making them perfect for music lovers.
  • Active Noise Cancellation: The ANC feature allows us to block out unwanted noise, whether we’re commuting, working in a noisy environment, or simply trying to focus.
  • 360 Audio: The 360 Audio feature enhances the immersive experience, making it ideal for watching movies or listening to spatial audio tracks.

Cons:

  • Battery Impact with ANC: While the ANC feature is fantastic, it does reduce the battery life when used continuously.

3. Battery Life: Power That Lasts All Day

Battery life is a crucial factor when choosing wireless earbuds, and the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 don’t disappoint in this department. With up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge and an additional 20 hours of battery available through the charging case, we can comfortably use the Buds 3 throughout the day without needing to recharge frequently.

Even with Active Noise Cancellation turned on, the battery life remains impressive, offering around 5 hours of continuous playback with ANC enabled. The charging case is equipped with fast charging capabilities, allowing us to get an additional hour of playback with just a 10-minute charge. This is perfect for those moments when we need a quick top-up before heading out the door.

The Buds 3 also support wireless charging, so we can simply place the case on a wireless charging pad or use a Samsung phone with reverse wireless charging capabilities to power them up on the go. The convenience of wireless charging is a huge plus, especially for those of us who are constantly on the move.

Pros:

  • Long Battery Life: The earbuds provide up to 8 hours of use on a single charge, with an additional 20 hours from the case.
  • Fast Charging: A quick 10-minute charge can give us an extra hour of playback, which is perfect for busy days.
  • Wireless Charging: The charging case supports wireless charging, adding to the overall convenience.

Cons:

  • Battery Drain with ANC: As expected, the battery drains faster when Active Noise Cancellation is enabled, but this is a trade-off for enjoying immersive audio.

4. Connectivity: Seamless Pairing and Smart Features

Samsung has made it easier than ever to connect and pair the Galaxy Buds 3 with our devices. Whether we’re using a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, a tablet, or even a non-Samsung device, the Bluetooth 5.2 technology ensures a stable and reliable connection with minimal dropouts.

One of the standout features of the Buds 3 is their seamless integration with the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. If we own multiple Samsung devices, we can easily switch between them without needing to manually disconnect and reconnect the earbuds. This makes the Buds 3 perfect for multitasking, whether we’re listening to music on our phone and need to switch to a call on our tablet, or watching a movie on our laptop.

The Galaxy Wearable app gives us complete control over the settings of the Buds 3, allowing us to customize the touch controls, adjust the ANC levels, and even activate the Find My Earbuds feature if we happen to misplace them.

Pros:

  • Seamless Pairing: The Buds 3 connect effortlessly to Samsung Galaxy devices and offer a smooth transition between devices within the ecosystem.
  • Customizable Controls: Through the Galaxy Wearable app, we can customize the touch controls and adjust settings to suit our preferences.
  • Find My Earbuds: This feature is incredibly useful for those of us who tend to misplace our earbuds.

Cons:

  • Limited Features for Non-Samsung Users: While the Buds 3 work with non-Samsung devices, some features like seamless device switching are only available within the Samsung ecosystem.

5. Durability: Built to Last, Rain or Shine

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 are designed with durability in mind, making them a reliable choice for those of us who lead active lifestyles. The earbuds come with an IPX7 water resistance rating, which means they can handle rain, sweat, and even accidental splashes without any issues.

This level of water resistance makes the Buds 3 ideal for workouts, whether we’re at the gym or running outdoors. They’re also perfect for travel, as we don’t have to worry about rain or accidental spills damaging the earbuds. Samsung has ensured that the Buds 3 can withstand the wear and tear of daily use, making them a great investment for anyone looking for long-lasting earbuds.

Pros:

  • Water-Resistant: With an IPX7 rating, the Buds 3 can handle rain, sweat, and accidental splashes, making them perfect for workouts and outdoor use.
  • Durable Design: The Buds 3 are built to withstand daily wear and tear, ensuring they last for years to come.

Cons:

  • Not Fully Waterproof: While the Buds 3 are water-resistant, they’re not fully waterproof, so submerging them in water is not recommended.

6. Price: Prime Day Discounts Still Available

Perhaps one of the most compelling reasons to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 right now is their price. Thanks to the extended Prime Day discounts, we can grab the Buds 3 at their record-low price. This is a rare opportunity to own a premium pair of wireless earbuds with high-end features at a fraction of the original cost.

While the Buds 3 typically retail at a higher price point, the current discount makes them an excellent value for the features they offer. Whether we’re upgrading from an older pair of earbuds or buying wireless earbuds for the first time, this deal is hard to pass up.

Pros:

  • Record-Low Price: The Prime Day discount offers significant savings, making the Buds 3 more affordable than ever.
  • High-End Features: Despite the reduced price, we’re still getting a premium product with top-tier features like Active Noise Cancellation, 360 Audio, and wireless charging.

Cons:

  • Limited Time Offer: The Prime Day discounts won’t last forever, so we need to act fast to take advantage of this deal.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 offer an exceptional blend of comfort, sound quality, battery life, and advanced features like Active Noise Cancellation and 360 Audio. Whether we’re looking for a reliable pair of wireless earbuds for everyday use or seeking a more immersive audio experience for travel or workouts, the Buds 3 are a top contender in their category.

  1. Great earbuds – my best yet. These are terrific earbuds. I’m coming from a pair of Airpods Pro (2nd gen), which I really like. Main reason for replacing is that I’ve gotten tired of not being able to change certain settings since I’m not an Apple user. These sound great, just as good as Apple if not better. I’d say the ANC is about the same, which both do a great job in that department. The fit, like all earbuds, can be hit or miss depending on a person’s ears. They come with 3 sizes. I found the largest ones to fit snugly in my ears. Most of the negative reviews that I’ve read are from people who weren’t able to find tips that fit their ears. If they don’t fit snugly, sound quality and ANC won’t be very good so fit is critical.I wear these mostly for sleeping. I tried several top brands and none were comfortable when sleeping, which is why I landed on the airpods about a year ago. These are very similar. They might extend out just slightly more, but work very good for sleeping like my airpods. The big advantage to these is that I can turn off ANC and Ambient modes to save battery life. The airpods I could not turn modes off because I don’t own an iphone. This results in longer battery life and gets me through the night. In summary, I would definitely recommend these. My son bought a pair of silver buds and I have the ones in white. We are both very pleased with sound quality, ANC, and the different settings that you can select. One thing I would recommend if you get these is to adjust the EQ. Once I did, the sound is pretty amazing.

  2. Will become near-perfect with future updates. Just a quick aside to start, over the past decade I have owned the following in-ear buds (in no particular order):-Bose QC (Gen 1)-Galaxy Buds Pro (Gen 1)-Sony XM4-Sony XM5For starters, the fit is an improvement over my Buds Pros (and every other stemless design I have tried). Like, not even in the same league. Due to the stem and silicone tips, every few hours I’ll catch one wanting to slip out. Small downside for decreased ear fold discomfort. I wear these all day at work- more on that later- and after my ears adjusted to the new shape for a week or so, I can wear them hours on end pain-free.Touch controls are likewise the best I have ever found on in-ear buds. Pinch and tap stem are dead reliable and the swipe up/down stem for volume is intuitive and works flawlessly. The triangular stems with large, flat surfaces are instantly locatable and wonderfully usable. Stemless buds cannot compare to the ease of use.The buds look, and feel, premium. They better, at this price point. I don’t get the case gripes, but maybe that’s just because I recently retired my XM5s and their famously flimsy case for this pair. Survived a drop or two from pocket height, once on hardwood and once on concrete. Small scuffs but the hinge is still rock solid and no cracks.Connectivity is phenomenal, though this will likely only apply to folks inside the Samsung ecosystem. Can see case and buds battery info from my Watch 6 Classic, and buds autoconnect on case open to my Z Flip 5 even if my bluetooth is currently toggled off (can be disabled/changed in Galaxy Wear settings.) Got maybe a good 25, 30 feet of range before connection diminishes noticeably, worse obviously if you’ve got walls in the way.Sound quality is great, bordering fantastic after you finally burn them in. I only say that because no in-ears will compare to something like a true pair of studio monitors etc. High budget audiophiles I’m sure could pick things out to you but the in-app equalizer is great and to my ears the highs are crisp and not tinny, the mids are well developed and you can dial up a surprising amount of bass through the equalizer, and I never experienced buzzing or washout. Very good listening experience across every genre I’ve tested. Now, nothing is perfect, right? Battery life is a little short with ANC active, it runs out on me with about 2 hours left in any given shift when the XM5’s would get me through some full days. No big deal, 10 minutes in the case and im good for the rest of the night. My only true gripe would be with the noise cancelling. At times, it rivals the best I’ve experienced (for my money the XM5s,) effectively blocking most noise of all frequencies quite well. Uber trips, shopping, walking in public spaces, waiting at the train station etc they perform quite well. However, I work specialty service and in my shop I basically have to both work with heavy steel grinders and be able to field phone calls with clients/speak to customers in shop. When I’m standing and working on my machine, the ANC will be humming along smoothly when suddenly some frequencies stop being blocked, if that makes sense? All will be quiet, then suddenly through one earbud I will pick up certain sounds as louder than the other ear as they evade the ANC’s processing. It’s quite disconcerting to be honest, I’d almost liken it to feeling a pressure change in your ear but without the physical sensations. Some times it’s better/worse than other times, but I’d say by and large the ANC holds its own. If every other point in my review is a 5/5, battery life is a 4/5 and ANC is (currently) a 3.5/5.I would hope to, and assume to, see the problems with ANC addressed with future software updates. For now, as an early purchaser that understands products almost never release in a perfect state, I am very pleased with my purchase and do feel that I got my money’s worth.

  3. Buds3 pro Review from Galaxy Buds Live, Buds 2 pro user. I’m not a huge review guy but I do have experience using exclusively Samsung buds over the course of the last few years. In a vacuum the Buds3 are the best in its class which should be somewhat expected from a latest model, they cosmetically look way more stylish/sleek, they have a cool light up featured I’ve used a few times really just to show off at night. In terms of quality of life improvement, these are terrific in comparison to the Buds Live, which is not a bad ear piece by any means, but I must say the side by side comparison between the Buds2 and Buds3 isn’t a significant difference. I was a little disappointed when testing these downtown that that the battery life is extremely close to the Buds2. The battery life is pretty close, the sound quality is pretty close, both fit snug in your ears for the most part and I haven’t gotten frustrated with any gesture commands up to this point. I utilize both Buds 2&3 to get through the course of an entire day without any recharging. Just think if you’re already a Buds2 owner, wait till these hit some sort of discount to get them, worth having, just difficult to justify the price point between the 2 currently unless cosmetics is a really important feature for you.

  4. Limited to Bluetooth connectivity on iOS. So far, I am enjoying my Galaxy Buds 3 Pro earbuds. The sound is pleasant and the noise cancellation is quite good.My only reason for the 3 star review is there is ZERO support on iOS of an app to support all the Galaxy Buds features. None of the sound customizations are available to iPhone users, the ability to set personalized shortcuts for the touch controls is not present along with your ability to set the Galaxy lights feature on the buds. For me this is a major fail by Samsung. Other earbud manufacturers offer both Android and iOS apps. It’s a shame Samsung really intended that only Samsung Galaxy phone users get the premium features on a premium priced set of earbuds.Sorry Samsung – do better.
