My first OLED TV, very happy with the size and picture quality. I upgraded from my Samsung 65 LED TV.Combined with my Sony Soundbar, it’s a true cinema experience.I love the Google TV/Apple Airplay built-in, no need to use an extra HDMI port, and its great to have all my streaming apps in one place. I played Spiderman with the PS5 and it was an amazing experience with “performance RT” mode, it provided such a smooth gameplay I have not seen before.Another bonus feature I just discovered that other reviews have not mentioned is the TV comes with a “media” app. I am able to plug in my portable drive and play any files including the latest codec files. The sound is amazing for a TV set, I set everything to max, and you can hear the 50watts of power.Overall, I love this TV. I purchased it through Gibby’s Electronic, they provided great customer service and I saved money on free shipping and no PST, kudos to them too.
Gorgeous picture, amazing sound. The last TV I had was a 1080P and upgrading to the Sony 55″ XR55A80J BRAVIA XR OLED 4K Ultra HD Smart Google TV I can say that it is such a huge difference that it’s nothing less than amazing. Between the picture/sound quality and the features just wow! That said lets dig into this awesome TV!In the box/initial setup: First things first, the TV was very well packaged and easily removed from packaging for setup. I love how Sony made removal from the packaging easy by using a sleeved system by which you cut the straps and tear down the side at the perforations allowing super easy access. All in all the TV weighs what seems to be 40-45lbs and as such is easy to move even by a single person as I did. After removing a few more protective items we were able to attache the feet (which have several modes of attachment) and set the TV on the location we chose. Attaching the Blueray player, cable box, and surround system was of course super easy. Wifi and initial setup was easy using the on screen prompts and the google home app on my tablet which we already had in use. Next the app setup for vudu, Netflix, Prime video, Disney plus and Spotify were quick and easy. We also added VLC player to access the movies we have on our home Samba drive.Use/Quality: As for picture quality it is simply incredible. Everything we play whether DVD or Blueray looks stunning with the upscaling and as for true 4k we don’t have anything at that level yet, but with what we see on our existing setup it will be amazing! The contrast is the best black we have seen on any TV so far. Side note: the TV comes with Bravia Core which is a streaming service that from what we understand has true 4k content, so we are looking forward to seeing 4k on this TV. As for sound quality we tried it both WITH and WITHOUT our current surround sound system and man, the sound quality from the TV by itself is just awesome! You really can get by without a surround system but with what we are hearing out of the TV we will be upgrading our surround sound to a Sony soundbar soon. App usage is fast and lag-less, as for the voice control it flawlessly recognizes what we say correctly.Final thoughts on the BRAVIA XR OLED 4K Ultra HD TV are again one word, WOW! I really can’t stress enough the picture and sound quality of this TV. Not to mention it having no lag on menu and apps screens. Sony did this right which is what I expect from Sony. This TV is truly the top of the line in my book at a great price!
Para empezar el envío fue rápido y llegó en perfectas condiciones.En cuanto al precio lo considero justo y más porque el modelo de este año (A80K) casi duplica el costo de esta A80J.Si estás pensando cambiar tu pantalla por una OLED, creo esta es la mejor opción en relación precio/calidad/tamaño (55″). El procesador que trae se luce en las películas y series., es fantástico. Hay contenido en YouTube en 1080p que lo escala y cuando es de calidad pareciera que estás viendo 4K.A pesar que la C1 de LG es muy buena, creo que el punto fuerte de aquella pantalla son los videojuegos, pero igualmente esta Sony no le pide nada y menos con la actualización de Software para VRR que lanzaron hace poco. Como opinan varias personas: si lo tuyo es ver series/películas esta es la indicada ya que el sonido es sensacional, otro punto que destaca indudablemente.Lo que sí no está optimizada es la app que trae de fábrica para ver videos por USB y hablo concretamente para ver películas REMUX 4K con Dolby Vision y pistas Dolby TrueHD ya que nativamente la tele sí reconoce los MKV y las pistas Dolby TrueHD, pero no reconoce los MKV con DV (tiene que ser MP4 para que reconozca el DV) y cuando son videos con alto bitrate, presentan tirones (algo frustrante a decir verdad).Afortunadamente al contar con Google TV (que de paso, vale la pena mencionar, corre fluido en general) puedes instalarte el KODI (ojo, la versión no oficial de Maven) la cual soporta MKV/DV/TrueHD (en general todos los formatos) sin problema alguno, así como también otras apps (JustPlayer, Plex) algo que la transforma en un media player completo.Con todo en base a experiencia personal, espero haberles podido ahorrar un poco de investigación.
Can’t beat Sony. So, I’ll start off by saying that back in 2020 when I was shopping for an OLED to replace my base model Samsung QLED, I looked at both 55” LG and Sony. The C9 was $1,500 and the comparable Sony was $2,500. A $1,000 difference! Yes, the Sony had a better picture, but not a $1,000 better!Fast forward to now… and I just bought this 77” Sony A80J OLED for $2,600!! What I’m getting at here is that right now…this is easily the BEST value:performance on the market!I received the TV a couple weeks ago and have enjoyed enough content to give an honest opinion on it…This TV is absolutely phenomenal!First off, at 77”, this thing is MASSIVE! When I first received it and saw it in the box, I was like “holy sh*t!!” It’s a wall and it’s truly a personal theater experience!The picture quality is something I’ve never experienced before… the CLARITY of this panel is absolutely INSANE! Movies and shows actually have DEPTH to them. The picture is SO real and lifelike that in some scenes you truly do feel like you’re there in the scene! The Cognitive Processor XR is REAL and it’s insane!Coming from my 55” LG C9, I honestly wasn’t expecting a crazy leap in picture quality considering that’s an OLED TV too…. I was wrong…. This TV blows me away every time I turn it on!I’ve watched The Martian and John Wick 3 in Dolby Vision. John Wick 3 was an absolute eye-gasm on this TV! I felt like I was THERE! The Martian was SO crisp and detailed! His helmet, the sand, again… I felt like I was IN THE MOVIE at times!Gaming on this panel is simply on another level! I’ve been playing Ghost of Tsushima on my PS5 and this TV has me completely reinvested in the game! I work a lot so my gaming time has fallen off…. But, seeing the game on THIS TV, I cannot take my eyes off it! Gaming, to me, is really where the Cognitive Processor XR flexes its beastly power! Playing Ghost of Tsushima, every house, every blade of grass, the mud, things around houses like carriages; ABSURDLY detailed and realistic! You have to experience it to believe! It’s like playing the game for the first time, every time! And if you own a PS5, the A80J has exclusive features for the PS5 which are auto HDR and auto Tone Mapping. Basically, the A80J communicates with the PS5 to deliver a PERFECT picture! Like PERFECT! You don’t have to make ANY adjustments. The TV does it for you. It tells you as soon as you calibrate HDR on the PS5 that it’s done it for you. You don’t have to touch anything!Another cool feature are the various picture modes this TV offers. “Custom” is essentially the TV intelligently calibrating to whatever you’re watching, and it works beautifully! Then there’s a dedicated “Netflix Calibrated Mode” which is Netflix perfected, as well as “IMAX Enhanced” which is mainly for Sony’s Bravia Core service that offers titles in IMAX quality with DTS. Both of which might be exclusive to Sony TVs. I don’t know of any other TV manufacturer that has them.The sound this TV produces is also really good. There are actuators behind the panel that vibrate to produce sound with pinpoint on-screen accuracy and incredible crispness! I personally have Sony’s A7000 sound system(bought with the LG, HIGHLY RECOMMEND) so the TV is used as a center channel. Fantastic!Finally, the A80J uses Google TV OS and I must say, it’s great! The UI is very intuitive. Searching for something on the Home Screen is fantastic. Search any genre and it pulls up all kinds of titles from all services that offer the title and you can jump to them directly from the Home Screen!Overall, in my opinion, this TV is EASILY the best OLED currently on the market especially at its price! The 77” uses LG’s EVO panel so the brightness is good even in a bright room. Definitely brighter than my C9 was. The A90J in comparison videos looks to be about 10% brighter and that’s mainly in fine HDR highlights(10% window). Also, just to note, before deciding on this TV, I went to Best Buy to look at them all and I saw the Samsung S95B. You know, the one everyone is crazy about, because it’s QD-OLED…. Well, I’ll say this… the S95B probably had the most fake looking picture I’ve ever seen on any TV…. The reds were eye-searing and the greens were damn near neon…. The picture was beyond saturated and fake looking. It was ridiculous…. Just my two cents there….If you’re in the market, BUY THIS TV!! Like NOW!! Before it gets discontinued…. The picture quality is truly beyond words! Even my fiancé, who’s not a tech person, has commented on the picture quality. Especially when I’m playing my PS5 saying “it’s so lifelike!” Yes, it is!! 😁
Hard-core video/audiophile here! this TV literally has the best picture I have ever seen. First off let me say- I have the Asus pg 32UQX($3000 gaming monitor) full array local dimming @ 1400 nits. The Asus PG 27UQ(baby brother), Samsung QN 950 B (144 Hz), the list goes on. I am very very particular about my viewing experiences; motion handling is one of the most important implementations along with picture processing. This TV I just received, the 42 inch Sony A90K is seriously the best looking picture I have ever seen. The motion clarity beats LG, Samsung, all of them hands down. Trust me I would know. I’m am a high refresh rate pc gamer. Any hard-core motion blur makes me dizzy and upscaling is very important as well. This TV does an extraordinary job. I’ve only had it for a few hours, but I ALWAYS leave my TVs on in the beginning of it’s life to do the burn in test. It has actually really surprised me with exceptional picture clarity. If you’re on the fence about this one; just buy it! It is expensive as all get out, but totally worth it!—Update Aug 5th—So I wanted to post an update. I have had the TV for a little over a week. It is the most unbelievable TV I have ever owned. PC gaming(Asus 3080) finally feels right on a TV with vrr; it actually feels like a real life g-sync monitor with the actual g-sync module. Console gaming is unbelievable. Even at 120 Hertz, the PS5 and Xbox Series X like to downscale to 1080p(stable performance) but on this TV I can’t tell the difference between 1080P and 4K! It is amazing! The sound is perfect with my soundbar. Dolby Atmos sounds great now. I literally have not one complaint about this TV. Just thought I would let you guys know. PS!- Just make sure if you’re like me and this is your first OLED; viewing it in a dark room is a must! I’m coming from a mini LED Samsung qn950b (super super bright tv) This isn’t that. It is made for dark room gaming and streaming. Which is what i prefer anyway. Enjoy, you will be blown away!
Una excelente pantalla en todo sentido excelente calidad de imagen, brillantes, 4k,120hz y VRR que llego en una actualización. Sin duda un de las mejores tvs que he tenido. Antes tenia un Samsung q60t que nunca acabo de gustarme la calidad de la imagen y hace poco cabie por una U7G de Hisense, pantalla que tuve que regresar ya que tenia demasiados problemas y termino por no servir. Probé estas otras marcas ya que sony siempre esta mucho más caro que las demás, pero si algo puedo decir de sony es que son tvs solidos que nunca me han fallado, me parece que su control de calidad es superior.Si bien Samsung tambien es una compra segura de calidad su imagen no me gusta en lo personal y Hisense que también probé tiene una calidad de imagen extremadamente buena por el precio, el unico problema es que tienen una calidad pesima y el producto estaba mal en general ya que cuando me puse en contacto con soporte me comentaron que era normal mi problema que esperara una actualización.En sony siempre tiene una calidad de imagen solida en todas sus gamas y es una apuesta segura, ademas que la calidad de sus productos es excelente, recomiendo apliamente esta tv. Soy una persona que tubo sony antes y me fui de la marca porque queria ver si las demás marcas tenían algo interesante y finalmente en mi experiencia termine regresando a la marca.El vrr funciona bien en ambas consolas tanto en XBOX como PS5.
I always buy Sony, even though they are pretty expensive. So did not compare with any other TV in the market. And straight bought Sony OLED TV. Good picture quality, great sound, the remote has backlight feature and also voice commands. Could have bought bigger 55” or 65“ with slightly more money (55” was 200 cad more while 65” was 550 cad more), but settled with 48” for ease of setting up (I live alone, bigger size would have been trouble for setting up – size and weight).
I did a lot of research on this TV and am very happy with the products.When it was first delivered the box had a big gash in one side so I was worried about the delivery handling but the TV itself was undamaged.Have had a few friends over and they are super impressed with the image quality and colours.The brights can sometimes be overpowering during movie settings and the sound is lackluster but if you attach it to a surround sound system it works great. Also fantastic for gaming

Premium Features into a mid-range screen size. This TV is a follow up to what was already an award winning OLED TV in the A9. So Sony sets a high expectation for itself in TV’s. I jumped from a mid-range 4k tv I’d had for seven years due to OLED and the benefits it has for gaming. This TV does not disappoint. Plugged my ps5 in and it connected right registering the Sony tv and flipped VRR and automapped my HDR settings for the best possible picture. The TV does not support Dolby Atmos for gaming which is a slight disappointment for my Series X, but it does for television watching. Overall though response times for both console and PC have been phenomenal and more than good enough even if this tv does not support sync/and freesync so it can more than suitably be a computer monitor to game on. If you’re a hardcore gamer into the competitive scene, I doubt you’d use your TV to compete on in ranked games regardless.This TV does well to register what you are doing and smartly adjusts picture settings on your different inputs. The remote has a sleek aluminum finish and cuts down size removing number buttons. The android TV is integrated which reduces that need, but if you prefer it, they do bundle in the old style remote with number inputs which I thought was nice.Now finally, for the TV part of this TV review. This is a premium OLED TV and you are going to pay a premium price, but Sony builds a great tv, and the picture and audio on this TV reflects that. OLED handles dark blacks and movement so much better than an LED. This TV has a wonderful viewing angle and it’s more than bright enough to hang in a bedroom and smaller living space. Most OLED’s have trouble with brightness so this isn’t shocking or anything profound but this TV is adequate for what will be it’s likely uses. The sound is incredible, the tv makes it seem sounds coming from the whole screen to make audio feel more real, this won’t replace a pricy sound bar, but it makes for an excellent natural sound for a TV that pairs well with the picture in your screenOverall this tv comes at a premium price, but the build, look, and quality is that of a premium tv. You will not be disappointed buying this tv, but for pure gamers, LG C2 may have more bells and whistles. I got this tv 25% off and I do not regret the price I paid because the tv feels the weight it carries. 5 Stars and I’m excited to put more milage on it the next few years.
Terrific picture quality and outstanding sound. The media could not be loaded. Let me start of by saying this is the 1st ever OLED TV I’ve owned and WOW! I’ve owned it just over a month. Perfect tv for those who have wanted a top tier tv at a reasonable SIZE. Set up wasn’t too bad a lot of folks making a big deal about this being a Google TV and I get it coming from years of using Roku it takes a little time getting used to navigating the UI but at the end of the day it’s just another Android tv. The picture quality is bar none the best I have ever owned. Deep, rich, vibrant colors super dark almost ink like blacks. I mean 4K is truly 4K I’ve owned multiple 4k TV’s but none have come close to this type of picture quality. The sound is something else to behold, OUTSTANDINGLY terrific. Again going by my own experience, I’ve always needed some sort of external speakers for almost every tv I’ve owned, not with this one. When Sony says that “the screen is the speaker” they mean it. Truly blown away by the sound. It has a myriad of picture and sound settings to suit every taste. It took some twerking for me to get the picture looking how I wanted it, so if it looks a little too dark be patient you’ll soon discover like I did, that OLED TVs tend to be darker than traditional LED/LCD screens. The price is really the only con especially for this size but, again this is the size I was looking for and unfortunately not many manufacturers make OLED TVs those size. Overall couldn’t be happier highly recommend.
The best all-around OLED TV for most people. This is my first OLED TV and all I can say is WOW! If you’ve only had LCD TVs in the past, the OLED difference is very noticeable with the infinite contrast and 3D look that it gives to the image. My biggest concern with this TV was that it wouldn’t be bright enough but even during the day with 3 windows shining light into the room I’ve found it’s plenty bright enough, and a lot brighter than the budget LCD TV I had before (Vizio M658-G1). LG supports everything you could want in terms of gaming with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports for 4k/120Hz Dolby Vision gaming, VRR, ALLM, etc. I play Xbox Series X on it and it looks amazing! I also play Nintendo Switch and with a few tweaks like upping sharpness to 15 and turning Super Resolution to high it looks almost 4k! Everything I’ve watched on it looks better than ever before and I can’t say enough good things about it. After considering all my options I decided on this TV over the other options:- Compared to the LG G3: A lot cheaper but with the same processor for equal upscaling and clarity. The G3 is noticeably brighter but, like I said, I haven’t felt like the C3 wasn’t bright enough and it was brighter than I expected- Compared to the Samsung S95C: Again, much cheaper and the processor is better than that on the S95C so lower quality content will look cleaner, especially lower bitrate like YouTube TV. The S95C is much brighter and more colorful but Samsung has quality control issues, poor firmware updates, and no Dolby Vision HDR support- Compared to LG C2: The C3 is very similar to the C2 and it’s hard to justify the price increase of the C3. It was worth it to me since I got a good deal and only paid a few hundred dollars more. The C3 has an improved processor with improved dynamic tone mapping with 20,000 zones instead of 5,000 and is a little bit brighter. It also supports DTS passthrough and QMS unlike the C2. A common complaint about LG OLEDs is their aggressive dimming during prolonged high APL scenes. That issue was fixed on the 2023 models. Lastly, the C3 has a new customizable quick access menu that’s nice for changing settings in a snap- Compared to Samsung S90C: This is the C3’s biggest competition this year because they are close in price. The S90C has the better QD-OLED panel and is brighter and more colorful. I went with the C3 because of the Samsung issues I mentioned above with the S95C. I just trust LG more than Samsung as a company to support their products for years to come. Also, QD-OLED appears to have more risk of burn-in and I like to keep my TVs for a long time- Compared to Samsung S95B (2022 model): I wanted a 77” TV and the S95B only comes in 55” and 65”. Also, Samsung issues I mentioned beforeConclusion: The C3 is probably the best all around OLED TV for most people. Everything I’ve watched on this looks incredible and LG is a brand you can trust when it comes to OLED. They’ve been making them longer than anyone else and they’ve figured out how to prevent burn-in for the vast majority of users. If all you do is watch news or sports channels all day long then OLED probably isn’t for you but if you watch a variety of content from movies, TV shows, gaming, etc then I think this might be the best TV you can buy. Unless you can afford the LG G3, of course

VIZIO V4k43m-0804 television. I just had the Vizio V4k43m-0804 television for a week now .What a excellent purchase at a decent price. The user manual sheet is bad doesn’t explain how to use most of the TV functions. The on screen menu are simple enough to follow. The picture and sound is excellent. The television is a little thicker than some others, but has all the ports and functions you would expect. I don’t like the remote control unit it’s small and cheap looking. Took me half a day to setup and learn all of the different menus and functions. I have my bestisn 80 watt sound bar connected but it does not support the virtual X sound that the Vizio TV outputs. I’m very happy with my purchase so far.Urgent update****It’s been two months since I purchased this television and now the wireless Internet won’t stay connected. The signal drops and have to restart the television through the settings menu.. I have other devices connected to the Internet with no problem. I know that it’s the television fault. I’ve google search for any suggestions on how to fix the problem and followed all the answers. I have to restart at lease twice a day.My old television was a cheap Walmart Scepter brand that lasted five years with no problems. I know I could just connect a Internet cable in and problem solved, but I don’t want to change my entire setup for this. I’m very disappointed in the Vizio brand and not recommend this to anyone or purchase again. Pissed off!!!.Urgent update**Just found out the TV doesn’t have a ethernet connection so I can’t hard wire the Internet. I should have checked first but I thought every TV came with one. Screwed until they update the software or maybe I received a defective set. Anybody else having a wireless problem?

Vizio Tv makes you create a Vizio acct before you can use this tv. Vizio requires you to create a Vizio acct before I can use a tv I bought on Amazon. To set up a Vizio acct, you need to confirm your email address after getting an email from Vizio. It takes several hours to get their email and by that time it tells you the link is expired. Tried again this morning. It’s 4 hours later and I still did not get their email. Vizio sucks
Fantastic OLED. I purchased the Bravia 8 55 inch TV to replace my 7 year old Samsung 4K TV that had intermittent pixel issues. I must say this Sony OLED has an amazing picture especially with the deep blacks it has. I paired this TV with the Sony Theatre 8 sound bar that has phenomenal surround sound. Of course gaming on PS5 with Dolby Atmos enabled speaks for itself. Highly reccomend this OLED TV you won’t be disappointed!
I wanted an OLED TV and I always buy Sony TVs and for where I needed it only a TV under 50 inch will do. This one fits perfectly in the picture and hanging on the wall took just half an hour with installing wall mount and TV. Then the fun started! I didn’t need the AppleTV 4K I had before in this room, because the new TV had it all – every app I needed was there and every other was ready to download and install on it! You just need to have a Google account and you’re all set.About the TV as a TV: Picture is unbelievable! OLED screen systems were made for darker rooms where all the beauty of watching comes alive and this one did not disappoint. Lifelike pictures and colours without distortion and over-saturation. Once you see this, there’s no way back to other systems screen. At least not for me.The sound – it is good, but not comparable to sound run through dedicated amplifier and stand alone speakers. That’s acceptable, it has optical output and connected to amp will shine while watching vivid pictures it produces.Money wise – yes, the TV is very expensive compared with all other TVs, but being an OLED system and Sony brand – that holds the answer.Delivery was fast and earlier than expected, so, again – thank you Amazon! Delivery driver even helped to bring the big box inside and make sure all was good during the transport. Respect for your guys!Overall, if you intend to buy a high quality TV and can afford to apart with couple thousand dollars, go for it!Strongly recommended TV!

Works great and 3rd party apps are fast. Great TV. Installed well on VESA mount. The TV doesn’t work at all with a cable box from what I could tell. I installed coaxial cable from cablebox and checking antennae channel search came up empty. Good thing the cable box has HDMI plug so I went HDMI to HDMI. The remote is good enough and has good shortcuts to the apps. The Vizio account issue is well known. But getting out of the screen that forces the QR code account. Restarting the TV doesn’t get past it either even after creating the account. I forget how we did it, but we got the QR screen to go away and to the home screen after having created the Vizio account. The LIve TV is interesting and has so many channels. But it’s still not cable.Screen quality is great.

Nice TV good interface, lots of useless extra bloat. OLED TV picture is amazing.The TV interface and setup was relatively painless….The reason for 4 stars rather than five is rather than asking you if you wanted certain apps, it preinstalled all sorts of useless crap and you had to go in a manually clean up the app list one bloatware app at a time.Install NOTHING then prompt for what you want to have installed, would be way better.
Great deal, quality. This is a sweet spot of a TV. Don’t get too caught up in the minutia of in-depth reviews on other sites that focus more on the most cutting edge technology. The picture, sound, everything is great. I am very much married to the LG brand, and this model did not disappoint. Amazing color, contrast, and brightness.Everyone will say these TVs really need a soundbar, and I’m sure that it’s ideal, but it’s plenty fine to me without one. Honestly, my only regret is that I did not get the 65-in version.
Awesome inexpensive TV. We love the Vizio TVs! For the price , it really does the job. This is the 43” smart TV and we use it to watch all of the streaming services. The sound and picture are good enough. It’s not a picture like the units that cost thousands but I think for the price paid it’s terrific. My other one we had for 3 years until we accidentally broke it but we got a new one based on the great value we found in the prior one. The remote control works great and it you can even enable the remote on your iPhone. It connected to the WiFi immediately with no issues and we have no issues or lagging with the streaming. I definitely recommend this TV!
The Bravia 8 was a replacement for a 16-year-old Sharp 52-inch, which abruptly perished on night. With that large leap in technology, the improvement in visuals was breathtaking. Sony’s build quality is impressive as well. This was a great purchase.However… I do have a few general industry-wide caveats, which are the reason I can’t honestly give my Bravia 8 the full 5 stars it would otherwise easily qualify for.* The Bravia 8 doesn’t get along with the rest of my system as well as the ancient Sharp it replaced. I’m sure this isn’t a Sony thing, nor a Bravia 8 thing. It’s the move toward ever-‘smarter’ components – each of which wants to run things it’s own way. Going through the inevitable ‘control my other devices’ setup only makes the conflicts worse – I wish there was a setting to tell all the devices to just mind their own business. I’d still be using four remotes, but at least I wouldn’t have my control inputs being constantly over-ridden.* Along with the uppity built-in smarts, there’s a serious dearth of available technical over-rides and read-outs. For instance, I’ve got a PC hooked up, and it’s hit or miss whether the TV will recognize the correct resolution – and there’s no manual setting to brute-force the resolution. At the same time, while my cable (IPTV) box is delivering a superb image, there’s no way to confirm that it and the TV are in fact doing the promised 4K, or just getting by on really good 1080p – and, again, no easy way to enforce that outcome.* The TV really wants individual HDMI devices to be plugged directly into it. And yet, after a full agonizing day, I was unable to get Audio Return Channel working – either via HDMI or optical connection – to provide full surround sound through my receiver. So I wasted another sweaty hour putting things back the way they were in the first place – everything plugged into the receiver, with a single HDMI connection to the TV. That setup is still quirky and mysterious (as much the fault of the receiver as the TV), but nonetheless, things feel a lot more rational this way.* On the positive side, the TV has not been overbearing about Internet connectivity. I get an occasional warning popup to the effect that my Ethernet cable is disconnected, and so far that’s it. On the negative side, I did need to enable GoogleTV at least once for the purposes of configuration (see next point). But back on the positive side, GoogleTV is quite functional, and obviously benefits from Google’s extensive Android experience. If my TV simply *must* have an OS, I guess it’s just as well to have a good one.* In order to properly set up the picture, I needed to run a professional calibration app in GoogleTV – this instantly enabled a full range of picture settings in the Bravia on-screen menus. Having worked in computers and consumer electronics for decades, I do not enjoy being ‘protected’ from using my lifetime of know-how. The full settings could be disabled by default, yet made safely accessible behind a simple warning message.* Accessing the full settings is important, because even in Professional mode I found the image drastically over-saturated. Once I’d turned the saturation down (and boosted the gamma very slightly to compensate for the fact that I run at low brightness), the image became astonishingly life-like. Watching talk-shows and the like, I often feel that the presenters are in the room with me.Bottom line: Bravia 8 – full marks, it’s a terrific TV. The OLED blacks are miraculous, the color gamut is gorgeous, and even older DVD-quality content looks better than ever before. Consumer industry: continuing failing grade, you need to wise up a bit!
Excellent TV. This is an excellent buy. Picture quality is excellent. I looked at other TVs and the pictures lacked brightness. On the Vizio, the picture jumps right out to you. Delivery was quick and a snap to set up. I would buy another one if I needed it. I have DISH and easily connected with HDMI.
Amazing picture qualityf. This tv is worth every penny. I have owned Sony tvs for most of my adult life. I have zero complaints about Sony. The picture quality continues to get better and better. This tv replaces a Sony Bravia that I had for 17 years. There was nothing wrong with the one I replaced I just wanted a bigger tv. I thought the picture on the old tv was very crisp and clear but when I turned on the new one WOW!! I can see every pore on a persons face. It is perfect. I see no reason why I won’t get another 17 or more years out of this one. Love, love love it!!
Defective Out Of The Box. I was unable to set up the TV, as it would not go any further than the welcome page. Called Sony Tech Support on 9/8/24. The rep did not have me try anything on the TV itself, just the remote and attributed my issue with the remote. He ordered another one and I received it today, 9/11/24. Same problem. Called Sony again and it was immediately escalated to a tech supervisor. He had me go through multiple steps on the remote as well as the TV. He also did some further investigation regarding the remote and found no issues that would cause the problem, after which he determined that it was a defect in the TV. He then told me he could order the part to correct the issue, which would indicate that this problem was found in Sony’s system. How else would he know which part to order? I’m not having a repairman tear the brand new TV apart to fix the problem. Will be returning the TV. I will say that Sony’s customer service seems to be good, and have read many reviews about other TV manufacturers’ being terrible. Still not going to re-order a Sony.
Beware of gray banding. I didn’t know what these lines were until I started reading online about them and they were noticeable in gray colors the most. After using the TV for a week. The lines were completely gone.. Didn’t do any pixel refresh, didn’t use any YouTube pixel cleaner. They completely went away after using the tv for a day or 2. Other than the gray banding issue that I had, this tv is beautiful and awesome!
Great Picture and Sound But. I have never purchased a television that wasn’t from a big box retailer. Researched and this was the best size and reviews for my needs. Amazon delivered quickly and were nice enough to not just leave it on my porch. It was easy to unbox and set up thanks to a You Tube video. I couldn’t set up Google TV so had to call and Sony had to update it. I decided to just keep it as standard TV since I have cable and a few streamers that were directly on the remote. I also had to adjust the picture to Vivid and adjust the blackness on the picture but that was easy to do. 55″ was the right size as I was replacing a 14 year old Sony 46″. Sony seems to have the best picture quality, find others way too vibrant and unnatural. The sound is also quite good on this set. I would recommend it as a good tv especially since I went by reviews only and did not see it in store. The picture is vibrant and looks so crisp, clear and natural. Amazon delivered!

Best TV’s I’ve ever owned. Two TV’s side by side review. Bought these TV’s to finish out my man cave in the basement. Best money I’ve ever spent. Absolutely spectacular picture, very fast interface, MagicRemotes are awesome. Most importantly for me, LG remotes work for each TV independently.Very pleased with the purchase. See below for more detailed description.Side By Side:I did a lot of research and never got very far. I was looking to be able to control the TVs independently as I like to play video games while wife watches something or watching multiple sports at once. I just decided to pull the trigger and buy these based on the other qualities, and told myself that I would just have to purchase a smart remote. I got lucky! Deep in the settings, you can establish each TV as 1 or 2 etc.. (they warn you it’s typically for admin use) when I did that, the remotes picked it up immediately and they point and control independently (except the on/off button). So I have controller 1 for TV 1 and controller 2 for TV 2.Picture:Incredible picture. Absolutely blown away. Especially when you have it hooked up to the PS5 or are streaming something 4k. It beats every other TV I’ve owned. Tip: go in and do the A.I. picture quality – it will tailor picture to your preferences. Pretty slickFunctionality:Very fast interface and easy going remotes. Overall very smooth and comfortable. I like the homepage and customizable apps. Marry apps to the numbered buttons by simply holding them, very simple. MagicRemotes are pretty cool. You can point and click or just use button pad. One of the best pieces of advice I got from an IT friend was that when you pay a lot for a TV, you are buying the computer, not just the picture. Magic Remote is horrible and NO Tech Support. This TV comes with the WORST remote control I have ever seen. In addition…LG doesn’t have Tech Support. Customer Service handles that. Agents don’t have a clue. They put you on hold to search for the problem. Then they come back with CLUELESS answers. If the TV was not that big and heavy…I would have returned it. The picture is ok. It is just the overall experience that is nothing short of awful. I spent 2 hours entering my username and password because of the crazy/all over the place pointer of the so-called Magic Remote Control. You can’t even temporarily disable it by clicking the buttons they suggest…in a couple of seconds it’s back jumping all over the place. And you can’t permanently disable that crazy pointer. At the very least they should give us the option to turn it off PERMANENTLY. So I’m buying a universal remote control.
Beautiful picture. Worth the extra money. My wife and I rarely take vacations but we do enjoy a good movie or TV show. So when it comes time to buy a TV, we try and get the best. Before this one we had an LG OLED TV. It still worked when we got rid of it, but it could no longer display yellows in the center of the screen due to burn in. However according to the TV’s built in timer it was on for 16000 hours! So if this one lasts 16000 of use we will be happy with this one also.

Not impressed. I’m not that impressed with picture quality or the interface within the programing of the TV. I’m disappointed with visuals. Also packaging could be better. Luckily the screen wasn’t damaged. Look at pics. I’ve owned Samsung for many years and I wish now I had purchased another tv from samsung.

Great purchase. We upgraded from a Roku TV to this. It’s so much better!! The video quality is amazing and it’s so easy to navigate. I haven’t tried out the free movies yet, but I think those update often too!
FANTASTIC. WoW!!!!!!!!! is this tv nice. has alot to offer too. The picture is absolutely amazing, crisp bright clear, the sound is great as well, a bit difficult to set up with all the features, but its fun. gets internet real fast. its great.

Incredible gaming TV/Monitor. I bought the 42 inch C4 to use as a PC gaming monitor and I’m more than satisfied. This TV has deep dark blacks, vivid colors and smooth motion for gaming. Don’t be afraid to get OLED as this TV has safeguards built in to prevent screen burn in. The brightness is more than sufficient and much brighter than my LG 65 C1.
Better model available. The listing did not list that this version of the product uses the outdated WiFi 5 and not the WiFi 6E that the Costco model of this product has for the exact same price (or less at times). With 4K streaming you really would benefit from 6E even if you haven’t updated your network yet.That is the only difference though. The display is extremely nice, the AI 4K upscaling for lower resolution content works surprisingly better than expected. The AI sound setting is mediocre and I disabled it.Works very well for games with 120Hz capability. Smooth and enjoyable, response time is less than you might expect.
