A number of IT geeks and nerds have become millionaires with the help of the internet. We have a pretty general description of these people now. We usually associate them with those people who brag about how rich they are and how their e-book or software can make us as rich as them. But we weren’t born yesterday and we cluster all of these claims and offers into nothing but scams.
The question that is left in our minds after we encounter pop ups selling something is whether they really contain valuable information or if they’re just repackaging different data that we already know to begin with. When I was new to all this, I was an unwitting victim of a scam but I still purchased the Rich Jerk nevertheless.
I have no idea what made me want to buy a copy of the Rich Jerk. I wasn’t sure if it was the very straightforward manner with which it was written or the lack of introduction of the author, but regardless I read the book from cover to cover.
After reading the book, I finally understood where all the mixed reviews were coming from. I have talked to different people who think that the book has actual positive contribution while a few others think that it is a complete waste of time. On my end, I think it all has something to do with how we process information and our perspective with regards to different things.
What I found pretty interesting in the Rich Jerk is that it contains a long list of trusted sources that the author has compiled, I gather from his own experience, in the 31st page of the e-book. We often rely on trial and error in the internet so it’s a real breather that someone would actually share already tested information.
One really good issue that the Rich Jerk discusses is how to prevent being scammed. For people like us who earn a living through the internet, part of the risks that we take everyday is dealing with people that we don’t really know. The e-book teaches its readers things like how to determine where a correspondent is really located since scammers tend to lie about where they are actually situated.
