UPDATE: New Lemonade Diet Review Below!
Hey everyone Michelle here.
This is an update to my Lemonade Diet review. In my previous post you may remember that I really didn’t get on too well with the cleanse. In fact I hated it and gave the program a bit of a slashing. Mostly because I didn’t understand it.
But from reading the comments below I realised I was looking at the Lemonade Diet all wrong. Thanks to everyone who left a comment with helpful tips I decided to give it another go with a fresh outlook.
The first time I did the Lemonade Diet cleanse I created my schedule from free information that I’d found online so I was kind of just “winging it”. This is definitely one of the reasons I failed the first time around and had a horrible experience.
So this time I bought myself a book from mastercleansesecrets.com/book2.php. (The Master Cleanse and the Lemonade Diet are the same thing.) It’s only $27 and it gives you all the information you need to do the Lemonade Diet the right way.
If you’re looking for a guide on how to do the Lemonade Diet properly then I recommend you get this one here.
So this time around after reading through the guide and the comments below I found the cleanse a lot easier to do and in total cleansed for 8 days. I could have gone on for longer but as it was my first proper cleanse I didn’t want to over do it.
Now I’ve done the cleanse the right way I can say that it really does work and I feel younger and healthier after just 8 days, plus I’ve lost weight.
Below is my experience from doing the Lemonade Diet properly for 8 days.
Day 1 - On my first day I was really hungry. I’m not used to not eating so by the time I went to bed I was really hungry however I pushed through the hunger and went to sleep. On my first day I didn’t like the taste of the “lemonade” that much. I found the pepper stuck in my throat a bit. It wasn’t that bad though.
Day 2 – I woke up feeling quite fresh and in a good mood because I was proud of getting through day 1. I found that on the second day I wasn’t really that hungry, just a little bit. Cooking dinner for everyone else though did make me crave food! Lasagne does look very tempting when you haven’t eaten. However I really wasn’t that hungry so I didn’t give in.
Day 3 – On day 3 of the Lemonade Diet I found my hunger was gone. I wasn’t hungry at all. I found that I had quite a lot of energy as well. Plus the lemonade was a lot easier to drink now I’d got used to it.
Day 4-7 of the Lemonade Diet were pretty much the same, I wasn’t really that hungry although there were times when I’d walk past the cupboard and think to myself “Hmm, 1 biscuit won’t hurt will it?” but I’d come to my senses pretty quickly and didn’t give in.
One tip I can give you if you think that you may give in to urges is to get rid of all the junk food when you’re doing the lemonade Diet cleanse. It’s not good for you anyway and after you’ve done the cleanse you’ll find that you just don’t want to eat that rubbish anymore.
On Day 8 of the Lemonade Diet cleanse I was feeling really good and proud of myself, I wasn’t that hungry but I decided that it was time to bring the cleanse to an end and go back to eating. (Only healthy food from now on though)
I think I could of gone on for quite a bit longer but as it was my first proper time I didn’t want to over do it.
My Results
After spending 8 days on the Lemonade Diet I;
- Feel healthier.
- Look healthier.
- Have more energy.
- Have lost about 13 pounds.
- Wake up feeling more refreshed.
- My skin looks more smooth and healthier.
- I eat less. I just don’t feel as hungry all the time like I did before the cleanse.
- I no longer crave junk food. Healthy food looks much more appealing to me now.
- I feel happier and more outgoing.
I’m now a believer in this program and I’m actually confident I can do it again in the future. The Lemonade Diet does work amazingly well but if you’re going to do it then I recommend you do it properly. Don’t just wing it like I did the first time otherwise you’ll regret it.
I recommend you read through the comments below because there’s some helpful tips in there then go and buy the Lemonade Diet guide book here. It tells you everything you need to know about the cleanse and how to do it properly so I recommend you get your self a copy.

Hi everyone and welcome to my Lemonade Diet review.

1) The lemonade diet is not a starvation diet, it’s a liquid fast designed primarily to cleanse the body of toxicity. The syrup supplies all the nutrients required and while there may be some hunger for the first couple of days (Psychological) that soon goes away.
2) When the fast is actually done, there should be no weakness due to undernourishment. Sometimes there are effects as toxins are released from the body, but perhaps this is preferable to storing them?
3) The body does not get “pissed off” if you don’t feed it. You only have one brain, and it’s the brain that decides to put food in the mouth or not. The body is a mechanism that functions according to signals from that brain. If the brain does not believe it is in starvation mode (or pretend it is in order to break the diet) then the body doesn’t ‘think’ this either.
4) There is no pill form of the lemonade diet that allows for eating solid food. The whole point is to curtail solid food in order for the digestive system to cease digesting and start eliminating.
5) The lemonade diet has gained popularity as a weight loss program as well as a cleansing fast because they both occur simultaneously. Typical weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds/day, and many folks reduce the syrup intake to provide significantly more loss.

Well yeah it sounds very very dangerous, didn’t know about this diet but would never even dare to try it.
Just finished the 10 day cleanse and I feel great! I did it more for cleansing vs. weight loss. I did end up losing 13 lbs. I’m 5’9 130 lbs. now. It was not difficult at all. The first two days are the most challenging – the lemon and syrup supply the nutrients you need. I highly recommend it. Lana
@Lana – I PERSONALLY DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS DIET.IF U HAVE HEALTH ISSUE., TAKIN MEDICATION.. UR BODY NEEDS FOOD..THERE IS TOO MUCH ACID IN LEMONS.. REGARDLESS TO WAT PEOPLE SAY THERE IS A NEGATIVE EFFECT IN THE LONG RUN AN IN SOME SOONER THAN SOON.DETOXIFY UR BODY IN ANOTHER WAY DONT BE SORRY FOR THIS WRONG INFORMATION..I NO ONE PERSON THAT HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED. BEHIND THIS DIET.. PRIOR TO THIS DIET NO HEALTH ISSUES. NOW SHE HAS KIDNEY FAILURE..MAYB SHE WAS ONE OF THE UNLUCKY ONES..WHO TO SAY..NO ONCE DID I HEAR ANYONE SAY ANTHING ABOUT PRAYIN ALONG THE WAY..PRAYER ANSWERS ALL..AMEN
I think you’re over reacting to the lemon diet. Maybe you were too over weight like i WAS AND NEEDED TO ADD MORE MAPLE SYRUP for the first 3 days and slowly cut it down, you did say you did it to diet. I am on my 12th day and I am not hungry…All though ofcourse buritos smell GOOOODDD. But I feel good lots of energy and black poop!!! All the crap ffrom years of meat eating is coming out. I lost 4 pounds in the first 2 ddays and am now down 9 pounds! Love it…Maybe Ill never eat again. And I beg to differ but all the nutrients the body needs to survive …are there!
Maybe the post was a bit harsh but it’s just my opinion. I didn’t do too well with the original lemonade diet program but maybe that was just me. I know there are people out there that swear by it and Karen I give you my respect for going that long and not feeling hungry, I personally couldn’t do it and I know many others couldn’t either. I think the lemonade diet is for people that don’t mind suffering a bit.
Thanks for posting your experience because it’s nice to hear from people that are having success with it too. It helps give some balance. So thanks.
I am on my 5th day of the Lemonade cleanse. This is my 4th time cleansing. I have wonderful results each and everytime. I use it for weight loss and the last time I cleansed I lost 20lbs and keep 15 lbs off until I sabotage myself by going back to my snacking on high carb foods. I love the way I feel once I get to the 4th day. The longest I’ve stayed on the cleanse was 14 days, this time I’m going for 21 days, 16 days left..lol
The only thing I can say it perhaps u didn’t do it right and aren’t admitting it. My husband and I do it every 6 months for a cleanse and we struggle through it but feel fantastic towards the end. We each lose anywhere between 2 – 3 lbs a day. We’re thin to begin with so it works for us, I’m sorry it didn’t work for u. I have IBS and Colitis and doing this every 6 months does miracles for me.
has anyone become really Ill from the lemonade diet?
Francine I doubt any one has become seriously ill from doing the lemonade diet. I think if people started to become really ill they would stop.
However I recommend you give those lemonade diet pills that Michelle talks about in this post. I’m trying them out now and I feel great. I’ve already lost 2 pounds.
Jade
Hi there I originally found this diet great, and lost about 1lb ro 2 at day. First couple of days are the most difficult but after that its a breeze. Kept it up for 10 days then slowly introduced food. Then I kept to the drink in the day and then a small dinner in the evening. However, I have tried the diet twice since – but didnt loose a thing. Did just the same as I did the first time (and really I didnt cheat!) but nothing. Does anyone have any idea why – as Id love to lose some more weight and found this great in the past.
Happy to try any other diet plan you can suggest (however im a veggie).
Thanks
Michelle, today is my first day on this diet and yes it is hard, but I have seen the end results of a friends experience. Now given your comments, you shouldn’t be shot in the foot because every one is different. I am crazy enough to at least try it for myself and see. I appreciate your comments because with EVERYTHING there is some good and bads points. Anything that is ALL GOOD, may not be the TRUTH, so I appreciate you sharing your experience. At the end of my 10 day clense, I will post to let you know what happened. THANKS AGAIN
Dana, this is honestly inspiring to me because TODAY is my first day on it, and other than get n past the actual fact that I would have stuffed my face by now, lol, I am doing JUST FINE……………mind ova matter!! Hang in there girl!!
Hey Sonya, I finished my 10th day on Sep 19th, I lost 12 lbs, but like always you put 5 lbs back on after you start eating. I felt and feel so good! Since I was not eating it felt like I was missing something. It’s so crazy when your world is centered around food. It has motivated me to exercise more to keep the rest of the weight off I lost! Good luck, mind over matter…
I did it for 15 days and it worked wonders, more info:
Lost 50lbs in 3 months!!
It all comes down to healthy eating, small portion sizes, long walks/jogs and short workouts.
I first did a body detox to clean away all the junk that gets clogged in the body after years of bad foods and stuff, its said that we all should detox every few years or atleast every 12 years or so.
The detox I used is all natural and is also used for bringing your stomach back to its original size and allows you to eat smaller portions and while on this you loss natural weight as well.
While on the detox you are only allowed the detox drink and water.
Ok the best way to get ready for this detox called the Master Cleanse is to first allow yourself to get use to less and less eating so that once on the detox you won’t have bad cravings and mess up by eating.
So go out to the store and buy two bottles of V8 Juice, these come in 2 quarts bottles. We will be warming up the V8 and eating it for meals and drinking no less then a gallon of water each day. Use the V8 in all your meals and if you can just use the V8 cause the sooner you finish off both bottles the better so that you are now down to hardly eating.
Now that you are finished with the V8 you are ready to start doing the detox by using the V8 bottles for making the mix, they are perfect half gallon bottles to work with and you will need to be drinking atleast 1 gallon of the detox a day so these bottles work great for it.
Making one bottles worth (2 quarts):
2 ½ Freshly squeezed lemons
10 Tablespoons pure grade A (Preferably B but its hard to find) maple syrup
½ Teaspoon cayenne pepper
Fill the rest with water and shake well
Just make 2 bottles of that each day for 10-15 days. The cayenne pepper kind of ruined the drink for me so I would just down 1 Teaspoon strait and drink down some water and then you have the full amount of cayenne for the day. Also 10 tablespoons of the maple syrup might be a bit too sweet, so using no less then 8 tablespoons would work to. And yes with how much of this pure maple syrup and lemons that is needed each day, this 10-15 day detox is not cheap to do. I would normally buy 20 lemons and 2 bottles of the pure grade A maple syrup and it would be about $40 and that’s only a 4 day supply.
After the 3rd day use a herbal laxative tea and again about every other day to help with the cleansing process.
While I was doing the 15 days of that I did light exercise and you feel very energized and really feel great after about day 5. After the 15 days you need to slowly get back into foods so start with light soups and more V8 until your body can handle more.
Once you’re done with all that you have a hard time not eating healthy and just get out and walk a mile and even better speed walk it, also try and put cayenne pepper in most all your meals as it boosts metabolism and has all kinds of healthy benefits. Also keep drinking no less then 1 gallon of water each day; I drink a gallon and a half.
I started off with just light weight lifting, jogging about a mile a day or 2 mile walks. Now I jog for 2 and a half miles or speed walk 5 miles as well as daily push-ups, sit-ups and resistance weight lifting. As long as I feel real good ill mix it up jog then power walk and repeat for a good 10 miles. But again this is more to the extreme so to still lose the 15lbs a month.
So right now I just eat in moderation and use 8oz cups to help with the portions cause with drinking a gallon and a half of water each day it doesn’t take much to get full. But no smoking, no alcohol drinks, no pops, no coffee, no candies or anything that does nothing positive to the body.
I just stick with things that are a must have for the body to function and I’m feeling great.
My husband and I did the lemonade diet 6 months ago for 10 days. I must admit the first 3 days of going without solid food is the toughest, but if you have the will and stamina, it will bypass. Because my job is very hectic, that has kept me busy and I had not once thought about food or hunger. In fact, my job had a couple of luncheons buffet style and I managed to turn my nose up. My body then had more energy and I was able to fall asleep at night with no problem (usually I would toss and turn). I had no problem with the spicy cayenne taste because I love spicy foods. My diet consisted of 16oz. salt water flush in the morning, and 16 oz. lemonade every two hours while alternating 16 oz. of plain water. So basically, I consumed 16 oz. salt water flush, 64 oz. lemonade drink, and 48 oz. water daily for 10 days. I lost 11 pounds and my husband lost 20 pounds. I made my concoction a gallon at a time which would last for 2 days. Because I buy cases of 16oz. bottled water, I kept the empty bottles to transport my lemondade juice to work. A gallon makes 8 16oz bottles of juice. The recipe for a gallon is:
2 cups lemon juice
2 cups grade B maple syrup
1/2 tablespoon cayenne (or less if too spicy)
We are doing it again Monday, October 4th for 10 days. Good luck for those who are thinking about it.
I really want to do this body detox but won’ it be difficult. As I have to go work and uni. So don’t want to be sitting on the toilet most of the day.lol.
it works.
On my first day – man do I have a headache – figure it’s from caffeine withdrawal. Any suggestions? Can I take Alieve or tylanol?
My hubby and I started the master cleanse on Oct 17th. First time for him so he had a headache the first three days. Taking the Senna tea at night and doing the saltwater in the morning helps get through the headaches.
Another thing we found out we can have on the cleanse is mint tea, which he found helpful. We are on day 13 today.
Thanks – much better by third day – now just missing food – hard to cook for rest of family and not eat – but that’s the only time I’m missing it.
Hello everyone. I am doing the lemonade diet now (more for a cleanse but kinda for a diet). I feel kinda rough this morning but I am only on day 3 but overall I feel really good, I just really want tacos
I keep reading everywhere that it is really important to use real lemons instead of the already juiced stuff, I am using real lemons, I was just wondering if anyone knew why that is so important.
Hello,
I am on 3rd day and just got done with the morning salt water drink. Honestly, that’s the hardest part….getting that down.
My experience so far…
Day 1 – Hungry..hungry..hungry…but motivated. Ate a few pumpkin seeds that we roasted…nothing else. Tool the laxative tea late in the evening…bad idea. In the bathroom at 5 AM. Also, I had a headache when I went to bed, so I took some aspirin at 5 AM, and still woke up with a slight headache.
Day 2 – Not as hungry…surprisingly. Decided to test my will power and made pancakes for the fam…I didn’t eat any. Made cinnamon rolls in the evening and didn’t have any. Was up late and didn’t have the erge to snack. I’ll post every couple days, and tell of my progress.
It is obvious by reading Michelle’s experience that she really didn’t understand “The Master Cleanser” Detox program.
It isn’t really designed for weight loss, however losing weight on the diet is an added benefit. The Program was originally developed to help cure stomach ulcers. Once people started trying the diet, they found many more benefits to it.
If you search the internet, you will literally find hundreds of references to the program. Lemonade Diet is only one of it’s alias’.
If you really want to follow the program as it is written you should find the book “The Master Cleanser” by Stanley Burroughs, it will line out the program for you and tell you what it’s for.
I’m currently on day four and have lost 7 pounds so far, but that isn’t why I’m doing it. I have a few health issues that I’m hoping it will help me with.
Hi.
I have done the lemonaide diet/fast 2 times.
10 days.
23 days.
Both times lost about 1 lb / day. (male, 6 ft, 185 lbs)
Both times i kept my normal routine: worked 8-10 hrs/day, travelled internationally, in gym for 45-60 min workout 4 times /week. Basically, i went 100% as usual. I noticed no drop in energy (quite the contrary) and no loss of mental focus.
NOTE: a few things I learned (in addition to comments above):
1. Ending the fast: this is more important that starting it. check a couple of reliable sources on how to exit. A good process will usually take 2 – 3 days; have steps of juice and/or vegetable broth, etc. This is very important.
2. make sure to have good laxitive support to ensure that the body can eliminate all the toxins that get released. you do NOT want the body to re-absorb them. I used a herbal laxative tea every night and a salt water rinse most mornings. Worked amazingly well.
3. socially: I didn’t realize how much social activity is tied to eating, dinner table, dining, etc. You will have a couple of extra hours every day (no shopping, dishes, cooking, etc.) I found it useful to have other activities planned during my meal times (to fill up the time.)
4. Day 2 – 3: other commentors have noted the “challenges” of day 2 or 3. In my opinion, it was my body reacting to abscence of bulk and fibre. It was not that I was hungry, it was that my digestive system was adjusting to having no bulk to process and to switching into “clean up” mode. These are not medical terms, but it is my experience.
Be well,
M
Hi
I am on day 2.. pretty hungrey but not as bad as you would think. I eased into the diet for a couple days..eating very lightly..soup for lunch light dinner the first day and oj for breakfast, salad for lunch and lemonade mixture for dinner the second day of easing in. I did my first salt water flush last evening and was done with the bathroom by bed time.
I feel ok..now weakness just some hunger. I’ll let you all know the results.
I find it too sweet. Do we have to use two tablespoons of Maple syrup?
It wasn’t designed to be a diet. It is used by the Mayo Clinic to assist patients in detoxing before surgery. It greatly improves recovery!
@Pam- It is not supposed to be a diet. All the vitamins and minerals your body requires are contained in the lemon juice and grade B maple syrup.
Nothing benefitial is easy!! You can do it1
This is my 3rd day on the lemonade diet and I feel great, *hint * leave the lemon pills in the juice after u squeeze them and it will make it taste much better….im going for a 10 day
It was hard and yes I was craby for the first few days and around day 4 I did get light headed but what do you expect when you are only drinking Lemonaide? I lost 16lbs in 6 days about 7 months ago. I am about to start it again today. I do it for about a week or 2 just to clean out my system before I start a diet or should I say “proper way of eating”. Nothing is easy and nothing is perminate…its all WILL POWER.
What can I tell… Not everything is for everybody.
But definitely something was not done correctly…
I did it three times last year.
I feel great! During the diet I am usually full of energy, and yes about the third day would stop feeling hungry at all, and actually I can go for 15 days, will try it next time.
I usually lose about 10 Lb. But my skin gets cleaner and it glows, my lops get their color back, my metabolism works better.
Oh, and towards the end of the diet I even use more pepper in the drink. It also kills a lot of bad bacteria and germs in your body.
I am a fan of this diet.
I lost 22 pounds the first time I went on the Lemonade Diet. I started going to go to the gym five times a week. I stayed on for 25 days. I only lost 5 pounds the first week and was a bit discouraged but the body builders at the gym do this regularly and they gave me the support to continue on. I gained 4 pounds afterwards but muscle does weigh more! Everyone says I looks great. I’ve never felt better.I just started the diet again as a cleanse so I’m enjoying the maple syrup this time around! Try it again with a support in place. It’s easier if you have someone else to do it with.
I tried the lemonade diet for 40 days and lost 65 pounds. It worked for me… And I’ve been able to keep it off too.
yes, the maple syrup is used to substitute the calories that you are not consuming. And also serves as an appetite suppressant. Try the actual diet. Don’t buy the pills this lady is selling. I guarantee it is B.S. I am on the actual lemonade diet, day 35 and have lost 52 pounds already. It works miracles and easy to follow. I love the tea (lemonade), it tastes good with the syrup.
That’s true. It’s the first time I see that this diet isn’t working for someone. I am on day 35 and have lost 52 pounds. I love it. And it’s not hard at all!
I started the cleanse today, and we (my family and I) only use 1 TB of Maple Syrup. I like the cleanse. I don’t know how many days I’m going to go, but today is going great.
Congrats Dana…I hope to go longer than 10 days.
I’m about to try this diet but I have a question I’m taking a fat burner pill so is it ok (safe) if I do the 2 things togeter? is it going to work the same?
im starting this diet on monday have a question im taking adpex will it be okay also taking medince for depression can someone let me know if this would be safe before i start please
I take a birth control pill and a multi vitamni every day…can i still take these while on the cleanse?
hey,
i have been on this for like 17 days now and ive only lost like 10 pounds..i dont feel any weakness or anything i feel perfectly fine..but the thing is im really busy and i usually just have abt 3 to 4 glasses a day with one tbsp of syrup..i would think this would cause more weightloss but i dunno why its not working..am i doing something wrong do u think?
You are stupid and obviously didn’t do your homework on this diet. First off you are getting your nutrients and calories through the maple syrup if u used the grade b, like ur suppose to. 2nd you don’t way your self at night, only in the morning after you empty your bladder. And 3rd you arre just a sad excuse, just because u lake no motivation and commitment doesn’t mean the rest of us do.
Female- Started at 5’9 155 lost 13 lbs and kept it off after now thank you
Im, going to start the diet tomorrow . I’m a horseback rider and really need to get a health kick on . My trainer says this is the best way and mix some yoga into this diet . I’ll let you know the turnout .
I did research about this diet and though it sounded like an all natural way to loose weight. I tried it and about 2 p.m. the first day I became very ill. Almost felt like I was coming down with the flu. Headache, body aches and felt very nausia. I didn’t even make it through the first day. I don’t know how anyone can do this diet.
“Hello McFly?!?!?!” This so called ‘review’ is a spam advertisement for a useless diet product. I suggest that if you’re looking into the Lemonaide Diet you read extensively (and select your sources more carefully next time), wait then read some more.
This is not a “diet” at all – or at least you should not approach it that way. It’s a fast! It’s not about a quick fix weight loss event, it’s about something much, much more.
Wait until the 5th day to do the salt water flush – then do it again on the 7th day. *Maybe* again on the 9th. The fast will mostly take care of the colonic toxins and 2 flushes is more than adequate for rinsing. Excessive salt water rinsing of the colon is not good. Won’t kill you like this ‘reviewer’ says but there’s no real good reason to do it, and the mucus in your colon is supposed to be there.
As far as doctor’s an diets go… how many times do you need to be fooled by ‘diet science’ flip-flopping around before you see the picture here. Paid professionals aren’t going to tell you anything except “pay me and I’ll help you”.
Use your God given common sense. What is more than healthy is a 10-day fast. Distilled water, Grade B maple syrup, and lemon juice is one way to do it, better than most.
Fasting for 10 days is not limited to a 10 day event. Fast could (and very well SHOULD) be sometihng that effects you for the rest of your life. Don’t be a zealot or obsessive – use your head.
I am currently doing the lemon diet and i am feeling great! It is my 4th day and i am feeling better than when i wasn’t doing it. I can believe what this person is saying about it… I am keeping a journal, not hungry, but I also learn that I relate everything to food, therefore i crave food. – I love food, but i hate feeling sick.
Since i started this diet, i feel energized, i am sleeping better, and feel healthier… it takes discipline and the desire to be healthier – IT IS POSSIBLE TO LIVE WITHOUT FOOD FOR 10 DAYS – JESUS DID IT FOR 40 DAYS…. HAAAAA.
To call anyone “stupid enough to try it” is punitive and uncalled for. Just because it didn’t work for you, doens’t mean it doesn’t work. My son lost 10lbs, I’m on day 2 and lost 4lbs and I could go on about others. First of all it’s a mind set, a spiritual opportunity and a physical recalibration. It gives one a new relationship with food, discipline and self affirmation. It’s challenging the first few days yes, but like all things rewarding…a winning attitude is required. We who have succeeded on this diet is far from stupid. Do what works for you, if this doesn’t so be it, but don’t belittle those who do.
Oh yes, might I add, I too have amazing energy! I wake up each morning more refreshed…go figure. I do feel like I have a drop in energy around 5pm. I use that time to take 30 minute nap (if I’m off)or meditate. And then it’s on and poppin! The diet calls for no vitamins or medicine…however I think that you should ask someone who has medical experience but also a nutritionist. A lot of doctors are ill informed on alternative healing modalites and will give you contrary information when you tell them you’re cleansing. But they’re quick to prescribe drugs. I’m fortunate to have great docs who do both. Bless everyone…including the sceptic. Be Happy and remember the lemonade diets works if you want it to. An attitude of gratitude will take you a long way!
peace&love
The Lemonade Diet is miss-named.
It is a Cleanse, NOT a diet. End of story.
THIS CLEANSE IS AMAZING AND IT WORKS, but it’s not easy. YOU MUST HAVE THE WILL POWER TO STAY ON TRACK AND DON’T BREAK OR IT DOESN’T WORK!
You have to eat healthy, workout and have a good support system around you. Before and after the cleanse, otherwise it will effect you in the long run.
Me and my husband found this VERY effective. He did it for 3 days and lost his small belly fat he gained over the holidays and I did it for the full 7 days and lost the body fat that I gained from the holidays.
But one key thing I would say is too also change the way you eat and drink, to think about what your putting into your body, otherwise you can put the weight straight back on.
KEY WORD: PORTION CONTROL!
Instead of 3 glasses of white wine in an evening out with friends or dinner at home, have 1 glass. Change to Whole wheat Bread, Sweet Potatoes, Sea Salt, Brown Sugar and Brown rice. Lots of Fresh Fruit and Veg as snacks.
No added salt products is a better option, so if you cook with Sea-Salt, your not adding more. Organic food is also great, but don’t overdo your weekly Food budget, you can mix it up with regular products and it will be still just as healthy for you.
Think of it as a LIFE CHANGE not a DIET. That way your mind set is positive and your body feels better inside and out.
THE DOWNSIDE…
You may dream about food, your stomach may keep you a wake the first couple of nights, you may wake up in the middle of the night and stare inside your fridge, you constantly talk about things you ate in the past and how good it tastes and you will HATE every single FOOD TV COMMERCIAL that you see and may have to look away.
You will have to keep your head straight when walking past Restaurants and Bakeries but you will GET through it and by the 5th day, you can handle anything
having someone doing it with you, husband, girlfriend etc, is a HUGE support system and you can talk about the process and getting through it together.
KEEP BUSY when on the cleanse, so you forget about food.
You defiantly get a HUGE appreciation for FOOD once completed and every BITE after that tastes amazing. Enjoy healthy tasty food in moderation, WORKOUT and eat 3 times a day and you will look great!
NEVER BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR ALTERNATIVES AT A RESTAURANT, ASK FOR THE HEALTHIER OPTION. LETTUCE LEAVES INSTEAD OF THE BUN, NO TOPPINGS ON YOUR SWEET POTATO, NO BUTTER ON YOUR VEG, CREAMY SAUCES ON THE SIDE AND LESS CHEESE AS POSSIBLE.
We will defiantly do it again! 100% works!
GOOD LUCK
Ok. It wont kill you. If you try it, make sure to at least go 3 days until you give up. Must go 10 to get good results. If you can make it through the 2nd day you are usually clear of hunger. I lose a lb a day when I do it. Remember, it isnt a diet, it is a cleansing. A nice side effect is weight loss. I use limes, grade A syrup and filtered tap water. Sure some anal jerk on here would say im doing it wrong. But it works for me.
This diet is great i found out i had diabetes and went on the lemonade diet for 22 days i stopped all of my diabetic high blood pressure and cholesterol medication and not only did i loose almost 30 pounds but when i went in to the dr for my check up the dr told me keep doing what i was doing because i was free of diabetes! This is not a diet it is a cleanser to remove all toxins from your body……trust me Iam living proof that IT WORKS!!!!!!
Hi, so excited to try this, but I would love some feedback if anyone checks this out, the posts on this are amazing. I had a back trauma a little over a year ago, and unfortunately I have had to take pain meds for this. The main reason I want to do this cleanse is to get rid of the toxins in my body that have collected b/c of the meds. My question is: Has anyone had this experience and can tell me if the withdrawal will be easier b/c of the detox? Also, I ordered the book so I’m sure it will tell me but can you eat on this or is it just that you won’t want to?
Thanks for any input, so can’t wait to start!
You’re only supposed to follow this diet for 3-10 days at the most. Over that and it can be unhealthy. So, this diet can produce results fast. However, it is only good as a kick start for a more traditional exercise and eating routine. Something you can follow for months and years.
This means that you may use this program to get your weight loss process off the ground and shed a lot of pounds. But afterwards, you need to start working out and eating sensibly to continue losing weight and improve your health and fitness levels.
Here’s an idea how about making conscious healthy decisions and turn off the tv and get out in the world?!Then you wont have to look for miracle transformations. We are such lazy beings wanting instant gratification. Use it as a jump start and the learn something called will power… if you can not eat anything for days at a time could you not use them same determination and self control to stray from unhealthy foods and maybe start cooking healthy foods for your family instead of the plethora of drive thru crap i see everyone ingesting.
From this being a cleanse, how many times a day and how frequent does it make you have to … go lol i am really interested in trying it out but i’m scared because i do work and go to school. any help? thanks -catherine
I hear that headaches are a main side effect. I need my coffee in the morning. Am I able to take advil or anything for the headaches?
I have been contemplating doing this diet for months. I lost 100 pounds the old fashioned way. Drastically changing my diet (my old diet was terrible) and working out ALOT. It took a year and a half.
I am getting married in 7 months… and would LOVE to incorporate this into my life for the next few months.. off and on (if healthy) to lose weight.
Anyone have any suggestions about curbing the headaches?
Hi KK.
I didn’t have any headaches when I was on the cleanse.
I suppose you could take some paracetamol or I find that taking a nap helps me when I’ve got a headache.
Michelle
The Headaches.
If you drink coffee, cokes (or even black tea) and then suddenly quit (which is the case when you do the cleanse) you may initially suffer from caffeine withdrawal. You might want to gradually reduce your caffeine intake before starting the cleanse (over a 2-week period). I’m going to do this before starting the cleanse.

It’s normal to feel icky the first few days. Your body is getting rid of some toxic stuff. Usually after day 3 or so I get to feel more energetic. It’s a decision that’s not always easy to make to follow through it. But it does work.
Well I am going to start this lemonade diet or cleanse(whatever you want to call it) tomorrow. I have been reading up on it and it sounds pretty good for me. Wish me luck!
Good luck!
Hi, i’m looking to start the lemonade diet next week. I want to loose 40lbs. Just a quick question, is the salt flush essential to do everyday? Or can I do once a week? And also if i do the salt flush in the evening do I drink laxative tea in the morning and in the evening? Please help me. Thanks.
Can you tell me how to do the salt water flush? Thank you x
It’s quite simple.
You heat up some water so it’s warm. Add a couple of spoons of sea salt. Mix it so the salt dilutes and drink it quickly.
The salt in the water helps push the water through your colon helping to push out the bad stuff in there. It will cause your poo to be runny and it’s not very nice but it works.
I find that I need to go to the toilet after around 15 minutes to an hour sometimes up to 2 hours. So make sure that you don’t take the salt water flush if you need to go out within the next 2 hours!
Hope this helps!
Michelle
Hi!
I’m at the end of day 2. The first day, I was home, so it went really easilly. Today was quite different since I was at work. The worse part was at lunch with the smell of food everywhere and people eating in your face.
Anyways, you need a lot of willpower to do this and I don’t know yet if I’ll be able to hang in there!
I’ll post another review in a few days to give an update!
Thanks a lot for the comment Monique. Well done for staying strong and not giving in! A lot of people find that after 2 or 3 days it becomes a lot easier and the hunger goes away.
So hang in there and let us know how you get on!
Michelle
Well after lots of research, I have decided to join all of you who have successfully completed this cleanse. I am coming fresh out of a divorce after 25 years, just losing my mother, and far too many days of too much caff eine!! I seriously need this cleanse for body and soul! So today was basically day one for me. I couldn’t find the maple syrup so did my first day with molasses…not the greatest! But I have made it through day 1!! I’m anxious to release the toxins that too much stress, too little sleep and too much caffeine have placed in my body! I’ll report on day 2!!
So After reading all the postive results from all of you i have decided and am excited to give this a shot. I was unsure if this was just a scam or rumors that this would work. You all have given me hope that this will work for me to Cleanse my system and set me on the path to a heathier lifesyle.
I really am not sure how big some people are, when they post this info but i will gladly tell you all about me so that others can relate.
I am a 34 year old Male at 6,1 290 pounds. I have a very large frame from years of working out, but over time let everything get soft. Now im looking to get rid of my belly. I will post daily, more so to help me, but others can read and understand how its going!!
Cheers and thanks for all the positive reviews
So today is day 1 and i did the sea salt cleanse first.. Not good… soo bad tasting…but made it thru it. Gonna have to do it again or a tea tonight cause its still #2 as usual. Overall not to bad, thank god for the syrup cause otherwise it tastes aweful. I cheat abit and dont add as much water as told. i use the rest as a chaser. Hunger pains are not to bad, more a mental battle..hoping for good results!
The “mental battle” can be very difficult (hell, actually), especially with a history of depression. It helps to prepare oneself for this, and to honour it as a form of detox.
Today is the beginning of day 3. To be completely honest i thought this was going to a lot more difficult than it has been. Yes i have had cravings and yes i feel hungry, but only minor. I feel great and seems to have a lot of energy at the weirdest of times. i have been taking a laxative tea at night and doing the salt water flush every other day, and all that seems to be in order. As for weight loss, well im still in shock to be honest. i know its only a secondary benefit but in the 2 days that i have completed i have lost 7 pounds. So i will continue with it and see what else happens.. good luck to all… ohh only side affect so far is i have cold hands.. all the time!!! huh
Day 4 is here, lost 1.5 pounds and am struggling today with food..well the thought of food. Im craving everything and anything… but i just think that this is “the Day” for me. I will push thru and move on. All other aspects of the cleanse is going well. Cheers
