Welcome. My name’s Michelle and if you’re thinking about trying The Lemonade Diet then I urge you to read this review to the end because I think the lemonade diet sucks.
Not only is it dangerous but it actually caused me to put on more weight.
To cap off this review I’m going to share with you something that helped me lose 5 pounds in 14 days.
Why Dont I Like The Lemonade Diet?
Well about 6 weeks ago I decided to try the lemonade diet which has been around for over 60 years now and people are touting it all over the internet so I thought it must be good. Oh how wrong I was!
It pretty much consists of not eating anything for weeks at a time and drinking some special drink made out of lemon juice, cayenne pepper, maple syrup and distilled water. Now this is very dangerous and I’m about to tell you why.
Why Is The Lemonade Diet Dangerous?
There are lots of people on the internet that will tell you the lemonade diet is completely safe and there’s no side effects but if you ask a Doctor or someone who actually knows about the human body they’ll tell you to stay well clear of doing the lemonade diet.
For a start you’re depriving your body of nutrients and calories so when you come off of the cleanse you’re body will be in survival mode and when you start eating again you’ll quickly put all the weight back on and more!
Also if you actually are stupid enough to try the lemonade diet then you need the will power of a monk because believe me trying to go 2 days without eating is hard enough let alone 10 days or more! Tell me, do you really think it’s a good idea to go 10 or more days without eating? Trust me, your body wont thank you for it.
What Happened To Me On The Lemonade Diet?
So I was stupid enough to actually fall for it and decided to give it a go. I followed it to the letter and did a 7 day cleanse. So here’s my breakdown of the 7 days.
- Day 1- By the end of the day was starving and felt like eating everything in the fridge.
- Day 2- Bad stomach ache and headache. Still extremely hungry.
- Day 3- Could barely get out of bed. Had no energy at all and called in to work sick.
- Day 4- Really felt like giving up. Still very hungry and had to go into work even though I looked and felt rough.
- Day 5- Felt ok. Still starving but was motivated to lose weight.
- Day 6- Same thing, still hungry etc..
- Day 7- Couldn’t wait till the end of the day so I could weigh myself. Weighed myself at 9PM and I had lost ONLY 1 pound. All that and I’d only lost 1 pound
Trust me I’m never doing the lemonade diet again. It hurt, I was ill and honestly I really don’t know how I did it because I was so hungry all the time. But guess what..
I weighed myself a few days later and I’d put on weight! I didn’t fill my face with junk food or anything. In fact I eat pretty healthily but my body was obviously so pissed off with me for starving it that it went into survival mode and started storing the food hence why I put weight on.
So yeah, the lemonade diet sucks, it’s not good for you and if anything it’ll make you put on more weight.
So What Did Help Me Lose Weight?
Well after doing the Lemonade Diet cleanse I was looking around the internet for something else to try and would you believe that I found a different version of the lemonade diet that looked more promising. You can check it out here. (link opens in new window)
Because it looked promising I decided to give it a go and after using this new version for 14 days I lost just over 5 pounds without having to starve myself.
Basically they give you these pills which have all the good ingredients from the original lemonade juice but in pill form and they give you a meal plan and easy to follow exercise routine.
They suggest doing the 14 day system once every 2 months which sounds reasonable to me. It’s easy to follow and it works.
This new version of the lemonade diet is a lot safer and works much better. I lost 5 pounds and feel much healthier. I did the 14 day system a couple of weeks ago now and after losing that 5 pounds I haven’t put any weight back on
and next time I do the 14 day system I should lose more weight.
My aim is to lose a total of 10 pounds, so I’m halfway there. I’m confident that I’ll be able to do it with this new lemonade diet and also keep the weight off.
So I hope you found my Lemonade Diet Review helpful. Click here to check out the new lemonade diet program because this version helped me lose 5 pounds.
Thanks for reading.

1) The lemonade diet is not a starvation diet, it’s a liquid fast designed primarily to cleanse the body of toxicity. The syrup supplies all the nutrients required and while there may be some hunger for the first couple of days (Psychological) that soon goes away.
2) When the fast is actually done, there should be no weakness due to undernourishment. Sometimes there are effects as toxins are released from the body, but perhaps this is preferable to storing them?
3) The body does not get “pissed off” if you don’t feed it. You only have one brain, and it’s the brain that decides to put food in the mouth or not. The body is a mechanism that functions according to signals from that brain. If the brain does not believe it is in starvation mode (or pretend it is in order to break the diet) then the body doesn’t ‘think’ this either.
4) There is no pill form of the lemonade diet that allows for eating solid food. The whole point is to curtail solid food in order for the digestive system to cease digesting and start eliminating.
5) The lemonade diet has gained popularity as a weight loss program as well as a cleansing fast because they both occur simultaneously. Typical weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds/day, and many folks reduce the syrup intake to provide significantly more loss.

Well yeah it sounds very very dangerous, didn’t know about this diet but would never even dare to try it.
Just finished the 10 day cleanse and I feel great! I did it more for cleansing vs. weight loss. I did end up losing 13 lbs. I’m 5’9 130 lbs. now. It was not difficult at all. The first two days are the most challenging – the lemon and syrup supply the nutrients you need. I highly recommend it. Lana
